Towards Joy! Free Biodanza class – Canberra

CANBERRA FREE OPEN CLASS

As autumn starts arriving in Canberra we are looking forward to running our next Free Biodanza taster at the dance studio at Lyneham Primary School.

Biodanza is an invitation to dance with life, to awaken your ‘joie de vivre’ – joy of living. It gives you the energy to face life, find new ways, learn, grow and express yourself. All by doing something as pleasurable as dancing!

Born in South America, Biodanza is an uplifting fusion of music, movement and genuine connection being embraced around the world.

It is our pleasure and joy to share an evening of dance, beautiful music and connecting in community with you. And if you know anyone that you want to invite – bring them along.

Claudio Gomes and Kate Clement trained in Brazil and South Africa and they will be presenting this opening night supported by Peter Elliot and Jean Sum.

There will be a brief introduction to the Biodanza system and will then we will dance!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Everyone can do Biodanza, you don’t need to be a ‘dancer’
• We dance barefoot if that’s possible for you.
• Bring along a water bottle• We’ll have some tea and fruit after the session if you want to stay to socialise and chat.

After the taster class, Kate and Claudio will offer a 9 Week Term on Mondays and Peter and Jean will offer a series of Saturday morning sessions. See more details below.

MONDAY NIGHTS with Kate and Claudio

Feel your dance with life unfold each week in new directions, moving you towards a more sustained sense of plenitude, pleasure and creative, loving ease. A regular practice of Biodanza, in a group, is a space for old patterns to dissolve and more possibilities to open. Our intention is to offer sessions that enliven your innate potential for more joy, connection and integrated everyday living.

SATURDAY MORNINGS with Peter and Jean

Shake out the stresses of the week and have some space for yourself. Dance, move, enjoy and connect. Free up the flow of life to move through you in this 1.5-hour session of Biodanza. Drop in when it suits or get a 5-class pass

ABOUT BIODANZA

The effect of Biodanza is direct and immediate – within minutes people are moving, smiling and forgetting about being self-conscious. The movement and dance are facilitated without steps and with great music, together with other people.

Biodanza invites you to feel your own living, moving aliveness. To move away from stress and towards vitality and presence.

We can’t control what happens in life but we can learn to dance with it. Biodanza is about learning to dance with life, moving towards what you want for your life.
