Moving into the space of Selfcare

Biodanza & Yoga

Canberra Saturday 11 May

Kendra and Kate are delighted to invite you to a special opportunity to unwind and drop into openness, possibility, flow and rest.
We believe that nourishing the roots of your self-care is not a luxury but a necessity for a vital and healthy life.
With Biodanza and yoga, we are offering a space for dance, movement, inner connection and also restorative, perhaps even remarkable rest and coming inwards.
This is a space to fill your cup, take care of yourself and be replenished.
We begin with a brief introduction to support our understanding of the 3 rhythms of our nervous system. We then invite you to move into a session of Biodanza followed by a nourishing afternoon chai.
After tea, we invite you into breath-centered movement and yoga with Kendra which concludes with the possibility of remarkable rest in a guided experience of iRest yoga nidra.
We look forward to co-creating precious time and space for you to experience deep self-care.
Spaces will be limited to 16 people.

About your facilitators

Kate
Kate facilitates Biodanza, the dance of life and gratefully lives and dances on Ngunnawal country. She trained in South Africa and Brazil and today trains and supervises Biodanza facilitators and facilitates groups and retreats.
Working with diverse teams from executives in boardrooms to teenagers in social projects Kate has seen how Biodanza brings enlivens people and connections. She believes it can contribute to improving mental health and overcoming loneliness and isolation in our communities.
For Kate Biodanza invites an ongoing unfolding into deeper connections within, with others and life. She believes these connections are essential if we are to care for ourselves, each other and life on this planet together.
Kendra
Kendra supports the awakening process that is ongoing and deeply nourishing for every human being. As a trauma-sensitive embodiment facilitator and professional Yoga Therapist, Kendra draws on a vast pool of yogic wisdom and recognizes that our own individual body holds the wisdom and the journey towards its essential nature.
She understands how important embodiment is as an adjunct offering to talk therapy in the treatment of trauma and recognizes it is often the missing link in conventional healing.
Many clients have been referred from mental health organizations, at a time when their care plan required a more biopsychospiritual approach to their wellbeing and healing journey.

About Biodanza

Biodanza is an integrative system of human development through dance, music and social interaction. Biodanza is based on studies in anthropology, psychology and biology. In Biodanza music, movement and supportive connections offer us a path to connect with health. It supports us to dance with life as it unfolds.
A series of dances invite you to ‘shake out some stress‘, play and explore different movement possibilities then to slow down to become more present and steady. The flow of the dances brings you home to yourself and invites a sense of inner joy.
You don’t need to be a dancer, this is something everyone can do. We move in bare feet if that is possible for you. You are invited to wear clothes comfortable for movement. Everything in the session is an invitation, you are welcome to opt out of any activities or adapt them for your comfort and possibilities.
