StayWild! Biodanza Workshop

Dancing the elemental archetypes of 4 Animals

1-3 DEC – Melbourne

Shamanism and healing all over the world are inspired by the power of animals. How they move through the world, express their instincts and capitalise on their strengths and abilities.

Power animals are archetypal and as such have qualities that can be accessed by all humans.

In this workshop, Kate and Jean will co-create with you the ritual conditions for you to access 4 power animals in sessions of vivencia of Biodanza.

These are 4 animals that symbolically represent 4 elements of identity. Dancing these animals is potent. The sessions are a progressive sequence covering various dimensions of human identity. Dancing archetypes through Biodanza is a direct route to the collective unconscious – the great storehouse of human wisdom and evolution.

Preparation

It’s great if you have some experience with Biodanza ahead of this workshop. If you can, we suggest you join the Thursday evening group in Melbourne leading up to, and after the workshop.

About Biodanza – Music, dance and shared experiences that invite you into sensing, feeling, presence, joy and connection to life. Music and dance awaken different parts of us to computers and talking. The parts of us that have a direct link with life, our living, creative, alive potential.

In modern life where we are bonding to technology more than trees, to social media platforms instead of people it is no wonder there is so much loneliness and disconnect. We need experiences that link us back to awe and wonder at the connectedness of life.

The invitation in Biodanza is to reawaken messages of life within people and to nourish pathways for futures that express care and respect for life.

Biodanza draws on the universality of human traditions of music and dance to celebrate life, the creative arts as a powerful mode of healing and the life sciences of biology, anthropology and psychology.

Your facilitators – Jean Sum and Kate Clement

About Jean

Hi, I’m Jean! I love seeing the growth in participants through Biodanza – in their bodies, their outlook on life, the decisions they make to align with their heart’s desires and the courage and vulnerability that they bring as they dance their path of life. Over the past 10 years, Biodanza has supported me in making significant life decisions, and in bringing vitality and connection back into my being following the Melbourne lockdowns. This is my motivation to bring Biodanza back to Melbourne to support our community. I facilitate Biodanza on Thursdays, and I am also a Courage & Transformation Coach, Asian Women’s Circle Space Holder and Writer.

About Kate

I love Biodanza as a powerful, heart-based path that supports our human potentials to express. I’ve worked across society with Biodanza – from weekly groups to executive teams, vulnerable teenagers in social projects. I’ve been facilitating Biodanza groups and workshops for 21 years and have been a school director for 10 years. I completed the facilitator training in South Africa and didact training in Brazil with Biodanza founder, Rolando Toro. I have the following extensions in Biodanza – Identity and the 4 elements, 4 animals, neo-shamanism, organisations, children, aqua and biocentric education. Today I live and dance on Ngunnawal country in Canberra with my partner Claudio.
